Surfinia Sunset

Augusti’s pattern is a shawl that Jessica Joknesjö calls Surfinia Sunset. This is how she describes her pattern;
– I had an idea for a shawl where you start by knitting an edge as long as the entire width of the shawl. Then knit from the center of that edge and build outwards. I also wanted a fun knit with different textures. I envision a sunset over the waves of the sea, so I knitted my first two shawls in sunset and sea colors to see how the colors change the texture and feel of the shawl. /Jessica

The shawl is worked in fingering weight yarn on 4 mm needles for an airy fabric. First knit a cast-on edge with a stripe pattern in a contrasting color, then knit the shawl in a semicircle starting in the middle of the cast-on edge.

The shawl starts with a section with a two-colored rib section, after that you knit chamfers in a contrasting color with false braids and finally a larger section with a stripe pattern that is recognized from the Ingegerd sweater with an addition of crocheted, horizontal braids.
We hope you will like this lovely pattern!
